Dental Bridge Treatment

Crown and bridge treatments restore lost teeth, support existing teeth and help to maintain optimum oral health.

A bridge is a tailor-made device consisting of a number of crowns which is anchored to neighbouring teeth so as to replace one or more missing teeth. When a missing tooth is replaced by a bridge, the anchoring healthy teeth on either side must be prepared carefully to hold the bridge securely in place.

Crowns and bridges are vital restorative work as a missing tooth can cause serious problems for your neighbouring teeth. The mouth is a dynamic system and so adjacent teeth can shift and the bite can change due to the forces of chewing. This in turn can cause gum disease and break down the bone structure of the teeth. If the missing tooth is not replaced by a crown or a bridge, there is a high risk that more teeth will be lost as a result.
